[NYT] FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Jeb Bush and his aides had envisioned a big, inclusive, high-minded speech about race on Friday in his home state of Florida, a chance to bring his message of colorblind opportunity to a prestigious group of African-American leaders.

 

In a rare gesture of bipartisanship, Mr. Bush even planned to warmly quote President Obama, usually the subject of his derision.

 

Then Hillary Rodham Clinton stomped all over those plans.

 

In a biting pre-emptive attack delivered as Mr. Bush, the former Florida governor, waited backstage here at the annual convention of the National Urban League, Mrs. Clinton portrayed him as a hypocrite who had set back the cause of black Americans.

 

Mrs. Clinton, a Democratic candidate for president, latched onto Mr. Bush’s campaign slogan and the name of his “super PAC” — “Right to Rise,” his shorthand for a conservative agenda of self-reliance and hope — and turned it into a verbal spear.

 

“People can’t rise if they can’t afford health care,” Mrs. Clinton said to applause from convention goers, a dig at Mr. Bush’s opposition to the Affordable Care Act.

 

“They can’t rise if the minimum wage is too low to live on,” she said, a jab at his opposition to raising the federal minimum wage.

 

“They can’t rise if their governor makes it harder for them to get a college education,” she said, a critique of Mr. Bush’s decision as governor to eliminate affirmative action in college admissions.

 

When Mr. Bush reached the lectern, declaring, “I believe in the right to rise in this country,” the scent of political gunpowder was still in the air.

 

It was an unexpected moment of Campaign Theater that seemed to presage Mrs. Clinton’s general-election strategy should she prevail in her party’s primary contest: an elbows-out, cutting approach to her Republican rival. And it was all the more striking because the Bush and Clinton families make a point of highlighting their friendly ties: Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush appear on this week’s cover of Time magazine.

Three Republican Presidents Created The Middle East Instability, GOP Blames Obama!

Ronald Reagan, George Herbert Walker Bush, George W Bush and their cronies created the Middle-East chaos over a period of 20 years and the Prejudice Republicans and their followers; some Independents and even some Democrats are shamelessly casting the blame for all that ails America on President Obama.

 

If Gallup is correct and the Polls turn out to be fact via action, it wouldn’t be long that America would once again roll backwards, only this time “we would become a Banana Republic.”

 

Gallup released a Poll on Thursday that said by a 23% margin, Americans favor Republicans to better protect America and America’s economy. If this Poll truly represents fact, then it is self evident that most Americans are so uninformed, ignorant and brainwashed by Republican “material misrepresentations,” that it is fair to say, “we are getting dumber by the day.”

 

Without going as far back into the first Bush and Reagan Administrations and just dealing with George W Bush’s eight years 2001-2008 as President, whereby, Republicans controlled the House of Representatives and the Senate for six of the eight years, this is factually what they manage to accomplish;

 

Got us into two unpaid wars at a cost to date of 5.1 trillion dollars; gave two unpaid tax cuts favoring the rich of 1.1 trillion; due to lack of Regulations for Wall Street and the Banks, the Housing Market Crashed; more than 1,000 plus banks were shut down, wiping out depositors that had in excess of $100,000.00; the stock market plunged at its lowest level for which at the end of 2008 the Dow was down to 7,200; NASDAQ fell below 2,000; S & P that house most of the 401K plans down to 730; unemployment at 10.2% and our financial system in the abyss.

 

Under President Obama; he ended the Iraq War; the Housing Market Rebounded; unemployment is at 6.1% with 10 Million jobs created; the Dow over 17,000; NASDA at 4,800 and the S & P over 2,000 and the Banks, more stable than any time before. Forbes Magazine in their recent issue stated that President Obama is the best Economic President in modern times.

 

So, the question is, “are the Polls correct or is there something sinister about the Polling?

 

Since the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in 2010 and the Senate Democrats does not have a filibuster margin, the Republican Congress have done nothing but obstruct. They have blocked just about every Domestic Bill but following Dick Cheney, John Boehner and the GOP War Mongers are criticizing Obama’s plan to deal with ISIS from the air and Iraq and other countries providing the ground troops, Boehner came out on Thursday and said that Air-Strikes is not a strategy.

 

From Dick Cheney, Richard Haas, John Bolton and the other cronies from the Bush Administration along with the Republican Congress, they are hedging on re-invading Iraq. What is wrong with the Republican Voter that they can’t see what their Party is all about?

Autopsy by Dr. Michael Baden Shows Michael Brown Was Shot at Least 6 Times, twice to the Head…….

FERGUSON, Mo. — Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy performed on Sunday found.

 

One of the bullets entered the top of Mr. Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.

 

Mr. Brown, 18, was also shot four times in the right arm, he said,

 

The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunpowder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing, to which Dr. Baden did not have access.

Ferguson Police: This is not Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea or some far off land. This is the United States of America! Killing an unarmed Teenager, it is Murder!

Michael Brown is just one of the many African American Teenagers killed by trigger happy White Police. The Police kill with impunity because they have a sense that their act as barbaric and criminal as it is would have no consequences.

 

Michael Brown was killed in broad-daylight and there are witnesses. Five days later and the Police Chief of Ferguson still have refused to release the name of the Officer that killed Mike Brown.

 

See the writing on the wall. The Police Chief remarks on Thursday that the Officer suffered bruises to his face and was taken to the Hospital, seems to be another George Zimmerman type of defense scheme that is being “cooked up.”

 

The Ferguson Police Department has no business with the Military Type Equipment in the way of Vehicles, Guns and other Munitions. Perhaps, just perhaps, Ferguson Police Officers are watching too many Rambo and Die Hard Movies! Stop them now or the price of African teenager’s lives would surely be much more compromised.

Considering President Obama graduated Magana Cum Laude From Harvard and taught Constitutional Law and in one attempt at the age of 46, he was elected President of The United States with approximately 65 million votes that included Whites, Blacks, Hispanic, Orientals and across the spectrum. In 2012, despite the fierce Opposition and thrashing by the Republicans, Obama was reelected with approximately 65 million votes.

 

Considering the damage Bush and Cheney did to America in their eight years of America’s Steward, Obama’s accomplishments are humongous. But, would the Right-Wing which includes Fox News and the other extremists ever give President Obama credit, “not in this life time.”

Artist Kara Walker Draws Us Into Bitter History With Something Sweet…

Kara Walker was barely out of art school when she won a MacArthur Foundation “genius” grant, in 1997. Back then, her early work shocked audiences in part because her murals looked so charming from a distance. Black paper shadow portraits of colonial figures seemed to dance on white gallery walls; but lean in and you’d find your nose pressed up against images of slavery’s horrors — mammies, masters, lynchings and sexual violence.

 

In other words, Walker is used to filling a room. But this spring she was asked to fill a warehouse — the abandoned Domino Sugar factory in New York. It’s about to be leveled to make way for condos and offices, but before it goes, Walker was asked to use this cavernous, urban ruin for something special.

 

Walker took me on a tour of the show a day before it opened. The factory is covered in sugar — it almost looks like insulation or burned cotton candy.

 

“It’s a little bit sticky in some areas …” she said. “There’s sugar caked up in the rafters.”

 

I was so busy trying not to get molasses on my shoes that when I turned the corner, I was stunned. There in the middle of this dark hall was a bright, white sphinx. The effect is the opposite of those white-walled galleries; a dark space and a towering white sculpture made of — what else? — sugar.

 

“What we’re seeing, for lack of a better term, is the head of a woman who has very African, black features,” Walker explained. “She sits somewhere in between the kind of mammy figure of old and something a little bit more recognizable — recognizably human. … [She has] very full lips; high cheekbones; eyes that have no eyes, [that] seem to be either looking out or closed; and a kerchief on her head. She’s positioned with her arms flat out across the ground and large breasts that are staring at you.”

 

Walker has dreamed up a “subtlety” — that’s what sugar sculptures were called in medieval times. They were a luxury confectioners created for special occasions.

According to Gallup, Whites in recent years are now more aligned to the GOP than ever before!

Two White Guys – George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and their Republican Party erased 225 years of America’s financial greatness and the prosperity of the hard working American people by doing more for the upper 2%. Bush and Cheney didn’t care if you were white, black, green or yellow, if you weren’t rich, they ran over everyone and turned the country upside down to the point at the end of Bush’s Presidency, we almost didn’t have an economy.

 

Then came President Black and saved everybody asses and just look at the Gallup Poll; “Whites find themselves more aligned to the GOP who screwed them until they turned blue!” Go figure what makes people tick; logic, hate, race, color, creed or class!

 

Obama gets blamed for all that ails America, despite factually if people are honest with themselves, they cannot deny that in the four plus years Obama has been President, we are in much better position than we were under Bush. The Housing Market has rebounded; The Stock Market is at an all time high; we are out of Iraq and soon we would be out of Afghanistan; under Bush, one million net jobs in eight years; under Obama, eight million plus jobs in the past 48 months; our financial system is more sound than it has ever been; Obama did not drag us into another war and so the story goes.

 

I am neither black, white nor Hispanic, but to deny “that racism no longer exist in America” would place me amongst the reprobates and it is one place I do not want to go!

Do you want to know if you really believe George Zimmerman’s Story?

Then, imagine it was your son covered up with the yellow tarp and that your son was killed exactly the way Trayvon Martin was. If you have children and honestly answer yes, then, you do believe Zimmerman.

 

A teenager, Trayvon Martin, left his home and goes to a convenient store around 7PM and purchases two snacks to return home and watch a sports game with his brother. A man 28 years of age, George Zimmerman, 204 lbs in a vehicle, profiles the kid solely because he is black and stalks the kid.

 

Zimmerman continues to follow the kid and in the process he calls 911. He reported to the Police that he sees a “suspicious” person walking. The Police asked Zimmerman what type of person is it. Zimmerman responds, “black.”

 

During the conversation with the Police Zimmerman request that the Police send a Patrol Car. The 911 Operator asked Zimmerman, “What are you doing?” Zimmerman responds, “I am following him, he is running.” The Police respond to Zimmerman; “We don’t need you to do that.”

 

Rather than wait in the vehicle for the Police, Zimmerman gets out of his vehicle and follows the kid on foot. Within the space of few minutes the kid is dead, shot through the heart by Zimmerman with Zimmerman’s hand-gun.

 

When the Police arrived Zimmerman told the Police, “I killed him in self defense.”

 

The remainder of this story played out over the past 17 months and shortly after the noon hour, July 12, 2013, the sequestered Jury went into deliberation.

 

Now we must not only wait on the Jury’s verdict but most importantly, “accept the Jury’s verdict,” irrespective of which side of this story you are on.

 

My Own Private Opinion:

 

If Trayvon Martin had managed to gain access to Zimmerman’s gun and killed Zimmerman, Trayvon would have been charged for “murder; robbery; carjacking and using a gun while committing a felony.” There wouldn’t have been any media coverage and the Florida authorities would have gone to court and obtain Court Approval to Try Trayvon Martin as and adult, and yes, Trayvon would be on death row.

 

What is most amazing about this story is that while all of this was going on, Chief Justice, John Roberts’s Supreme Court, struck down vital parts of the Voting Right Act with an embellished notation, “America has changed.” I would like to ask Chief Justice Roberts; “Changed for whom Mr. Chief Justice?” A black teenager cannot go to the store in the early evening to purchase snacks without being killed and you have the nerve to write in your opinion – “America has changed!”

Yes, Benghazi was a tragedy and we will learn from it, but to watch the Republicans and some in the Media exploit this tragedy as a means to an end, that is worst than the tragedy itself.

 

President Regan sent the Marines to do peace keeping in Lebanon and they were given instructions “not to keep their rifles loaded.” A crazy man drove a pick up truck loaded with explosives and killed 243 our Soldiers. Regan recalled the remainder of the Marines and there wasn’t any bitching about that as it is with Benghazi.

 

Why is that? Well, these [white] assholes in Congress can’t stand the fact that a half white man is residing in their White House; using their Air Force One and are guarded by their Secret Service.

 

Obama’s leadership got the man who brought much grief upon us on September 11, 2001; Obama ended the Iraq war; Obama is closing down the war in Afghanistan; and, several Dictators have fallen by the wayside without any of our Soldiers being put into harms way; Obama took our country that Bush threw into the ditch and look at where we are today!

 

I wonder, just wonder, if McCain had won the election and had the same accomplishments, what would some Americans be doing. In my view, they would have dug up the Queen of Sheba to deliver Gold and Precious Gifts to the White House.
