Governor Christie, why has thou forsaken us and gone with the dark one?

President Barack Obama finished his tour of storm damage in New Jersey alongside Gov. Chris Christie Wednesday by expressing his sympathy with the victims — and detailing the extent of the response efforts underway.

“We are here for you and we will not forget, we will follow up to make sure you get all the help you need until you rebuild,” the president said after visiting a largely destroyed marina in Brigantine, N.J.

“I don’t want anybody to feel that somehow this is all going to get cleaned up overnight,” Obama said. “But what I can promise you is that the federal government will be working as closely as possible with the state and local officials, and we will not quit until this is done.”

Christie thanked the president for the “great working relationship” he’d enjoyed with Obama in recent days both in the preparation for the storm and its aftermath, saying Obama “has sprung into action immediately” to help the state meet its needs.

“There’s got to be sorrow,” Christie said. “But we cannot permit that sorrow to replace the resilience that I know that all New Jerseyans have.”

“Fox & Friends” co-host Steve Doocy must have forgotten Christie’s self-regarding keynote speech at Romney’s convention, which had more “I” than “he” in it. Doocy asked Christie if there was “any possibility that Governor Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?” The governor replied dismissively: “I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” adding: “If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, then you don’t know me.”

High Ranking Republican, General Colin Powell announced his endorsement of President Obama’s Reelection On CBS NEWS – October 25 2012!

(CBS News) Former Secretary of State Colin Powell broke with the Republican party during the 2008 election, to endorse then-candidate Barack Obama for president, calling Obama a “transformational figure.”

With 12 days to go before the presidential election, Powell publicly endorsed President Obama for re-election on “CBS This Morning” Thursday

“I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012 and I’ll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month.”

Powell explained his choice to Charlie Rose and Norah O’Donnell:

 When he took over, the country was in very, very difficult straits. We were in the one of the worst recessions we had seen in recent times, close to a depression. The fiscal system was collapsing. Wall Street was in chaos, we had 800,000 jobs lost in that first month of the Obama administration and unemployment peaked a few months later at 10 percent. So we were in real trouble. The auto industry was collapsing, the housing was start[ing] to collapse and we were in very difficult straits. And I saw over the next several years, stabilization come back in the financial community, housing is now starting to pick up after four years, it’s starting to pick up. Consumer confidence is rising.”

 

Summarizing the past four years under Obama, Powell said “Generally we’ve come out of the dive and we’re starting to gain altitude.” He acknowledged that problems remain, saying “The unemployment rate is too high, people are still hurting in housing but I see that we’re starting to rise up.”

Turning to foreign policy, Powell said he saw “the president get us of one war, start to get us out of a second war and did not get us into any new wars. And finally I think that the actions he has taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very very solid. And so, I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on.”

Powell expressed his concern about Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s changing positions on international affairs. “The governor who was saying things at the debate on Monday night … was saying things that were quite different from what he said earlier. I’m not quite sure which Gov. Romney we would be getting with respect to foreign policy.”

“One day he has a certain strong view about staying in Afghanistan but then on Monday night he agrees with the withdrawal, same thing in Iraq. On almost every issue that was discussed on Monday night, Governor Romney agreed with the President with some nuances. But this is quite a different set of foreign policy views than he had earlier in the campaign. And my concern … is that sometimes I don’t sense that he has thought through these issues as thoroughly as he should have.”

 Powell also said that he has given close consideration to Romney’s domestic policies. “As I listen to what his proposals are especially with respect to dealing with respect to our most significant issue, the economy, it’s essentially let’s cut taxes and compensate for that with other things but that compensation does not cover all of the cuts intended or the new expenses associated with defense.”

Powell said that he did not give either candidate early notice of his endorsement, but that he has “the utmost respect for” and spoke to Gov. Romney several weeks ago, and speaks to President Obama regularly.

He added that with this endorsement, he “signed on for a long patrol with President Obama” and that he feels more comfortable with Obama’s stances on climate change, immigration, and education.

Powell also criticized congressional leaders for not living up to their responsibilities, mainly around resolving the approaching fiscal cliff.

“The major problem faced either by Gov. Romney or President Obama, whoever wins the election, is going to be what to do about the fiscal cliff we’re about to fly over,” Powell said.

“This is something that was put in place by Congress and while we’re talking about the two candidates for president let’s not forget that Congress bears a lot of responsibility for many of the problems that we have now. They’re the ones that write the appropriations bills. They’re the ones that pass the legislation for more spending and for the various entitlement programs that people have trouble with.”

 

Gen. Powell last joined “CBS This Morning” in June, and at the time remained noncommittal about his support for either candidate in the race for the White House. “Whatever judgment I have right now would be incomplete. I haven’t seen everything that Mitt Romney is going to do. I haven’t seen how our economy is going to play out,” he said in June.

And, despite his endorsement of a Democratic candidate in two presidential elections, Powell says he remains a Republican. “I think I’m a Republican of a more moderate mold,” he said before adding, “That’s something of a dying breed I’m sorry to say.”

To be President, you have to win states, not debates. And Mitt Romney has a problem. Despite a great debate and what The Wall Street Journal’s Neil King Jr. on Sunday called a polling “surge,” Romney has not put away a single one of the must-have states. President Obama remains the favorite because he only needs to win a couple of the toss-ups. Mitt needs to win most of them.

 

Most polling shows Romney trailing in Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Hampshire and Iowa – by MORE than Obama trails in North Carolina. Glenn Thrush and Jonathan Martin reminded of us of the 2008 primary analogy:

 

Whatever else Hillary Clinton had, Barack Obama had the math. And math, not momentum, gets you the big house, the bulletproof car, the cool plane. We now resume our regularly scheduled Playbook.

In 1981 Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President on January 20^th 1981 and our National Debt was NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY BILLION DOLLARS. Eight years later our National Debt was TWO TRILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION.

 

Reagan deregulated the Savings and Loan Banks; gave massive tax cuts and created jobs mostly based on Military Spending. Reagan deregulating the Savings and Loan gave Carte Blanche to the Bankers and we had the first Bank Wreckage in our History, whereby Bank Failures cost the Tax Payers ONE TRILLION FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS.

 

George H.W. Bush was then sworn in as President on January 20^th 1989 and our National Debt was TWO TRILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION, and when Bush left office in 1983 our National Debt was FOUR TRILLION, ONE BILLION.

 

Bill Clinton was sworn in as President on January 20^th 1993 and our National Debt was FOUR TRILLION, ONE BILLION and when Bill Clinton left office our National Debt was FIVE TRILLION, SIX HUNDRED BILLION. Bill Clinton left a BALANCED ANNUAL BUDGET with a projected surplus of FIVE TRILLION.

 

George W. Bush was sworn in as President on January 20^th 2001 and our National Debt was FIVE TRILLION, SIX HUNDRED BILLION and Bush was handed a BALANCED BUDGET.

 

Bush initiated two wars and gave two massive tax cuts that benefitted the two percent (2%) upper income earners. Both wars and both tax cuts were placed on America’s Credit Card. In addition, the Balanced Budget that Clinton left Bush was totally out of balance and the projected surplus just vanished. Both Wars were in Chaos; THREE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND JOBS were lost during Bush’s eight years in office; banks were failing by large numbers every month and the job losses continued into the exit of Bush’s Presidency to the tune of EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND PER MONTH, and our Financial Institutions and Financial System were on the brink of collapse.

 

Barak Obama was sworn in as President on January 20^th 2009 and our National Debt was TEN TRILLION, SEVEN HUNDRED BILLION and in addition Bush left unpaid bills totaling almost FOUR TRILLION DOLLARS and a fallen Dow Jones down to 6,500.

 

Three years and nine months into Obama’s Presidency, our National Debt stands at SIXTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS; [OF THE FIVE TRILLION INCREASE, eighty eight percent went to paying off debts that were left by George W. Bush]. Our Financial System is sound and out of the danger of total collapse as evidenced by a Stock Market [Dow Jones] now at 13,500; for the past thirty one months job gains every consecutive month totaling FIVE MILLION TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND JOBS; Obama ended the war in Iraq; had Osama Bin Laden Killed and decimated Al Qaeda’s Leadership; instituted Health Care Reform after seventy years of previous Presidents all talk and no cattle;

 

And yet, everything that has been going wrong and has been wrong with America for decades, somehow it is Obama’s fault solely because he is HALF AFRICAN AMERICAN. [People can call me a racist but I am neither White nor Black and I am not racist.]

 

 

 

 

The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act was the first Bill President Obama signed into law in 2009.

This is another realistic example of how President Obama “stands” up for women’s rights period. And yes, this is another example of Mitt Romney’s hypocrisy on women’s rights!

 

This Act levels the playing field for women to be paid the same as their male counter-part for doing the same job as men do, but when Mitt Romney was asked about his thoughts on this Legislation, his answer was: “I will get back with you!”

 

On January 22, 1973, Roe V Wade, The Supreme Court in a Landmark decision with a 7 – 2 majority vote in favor of Roe; a woman’s right to choose [410 U.S. 113] became the law of the land. This law that has been protecting the rights of women to choose going on 40 years, Mitt Romney during the Primaries said that if he becomes President, he would support Legislation to overturn Roe V Wade. Mr. Romney was so extreme in his advocacy; he went on to say “all abortions would be illegal, even in the case of incest, rape or the risk of the Mother’s life.”

 

And now like everything else, Mitt Romney is signing a different tune because he needs the women’s vote. Why women would lend their support to Mitt Romney, would forever remain inconceivable to me.

 

Everything Mitt Romney stood for prior, when he sought the Republican Nomination in 2007, he flip flopped and was against it. And now in 2012, he has changed his mind again, trying to walk back his extremism.

 

Mitt Romney’s Candidacy For President Is A PONZI SCHEME Against The American People!

That would amount to Trillions of Dollars in Tax Cuts for Romney and his Rich Friends. If after Mitt Romney’s Twenty Years in the spotlight, you don’t know who and what Romney is; then you are truly uninformed or full of so much hate, that you would deny President Obama a second term and allow Mitt Romney to become President that is against not only your best interest, but that of your children and your children’s children and the generations to come.

 

Everything Mitt Romney stood for when he wanted Former Senator Ted Kennedy Senate Seat [1994] and when Romney ran for Governor of Massachusetts [2003], he became totally against it when he decided to run for President in 2007.

 

During the Republican Primaries in 2011 and 2012, Mitt Romney became an even greater extremist then Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, just to get the Nomination. And, now that he got the Republican Nomination he totally disavows just about everything he stood for over the past two years.

 

A vote for Mitt Romney for President is a vote against America and 98 percent of the American people. Perhaps, just perhaps, you should contemplate what you are about to do on November 6^th 2012.

 

No other President was handed the mountain of problems as President Obama did when George W. Bush two terms ended.

 

Our financial structure was in danger!

 

Our credibility around the world was in danger from Bush’s go it alone Policy.

 

Job losses from September and each month thereafter were on the average 800,000.

 

Obama was handed two precarious wars; “not paid for.”

 

Two major tax cuts totally one trillion dollars, “not paid for.”

 

An annual deficit of almost a trillion dollars;

 

A National Debt of ten trillion four hundred billion dollars;

 

An Auto Industry that was almost dead;

 

An OSAMA BIN LADEN that was alive and raising hell!

 

Now, you take the above information and compare to where we are today and if you are still going to vote for Mitt Romney, then, I haven’t anything left to say to you.
