The woman, whose intestines were removed because of injuries caused by a metal rod used during the rape, has not been identified. She was flown to Singapore on Wednesday night after undergoing three abdominal operations at a local hospital. She had also suffered a major brain injury, cardiac arrest and infections of the lungs and abdomen. “She was courageous in fighting for her life for so long against the odds, but the trauma to her body was too severe for her to overcome,” Dr. Loh’s statement said.
In India, a Nation that has become a formidable economic power-house and gained tremendous stature around the world; definitely needs to make some major adjustments by replacing their capricious and intangible laws when it comes to women, and create robust and tangible laws to protect women with the same rights as provided to men. [Had it not been for the continued Protest, the authorities along with the Government would have just covered up the crime.]
In many parts of the world women are always treated as second class citizens and in some cases they are treated with total disrespect. About two years ago a 19 year old married woman (girl) in Saudi Arabia went out to take care of some chores. She was brutally raped by six Saudi Arabian Soldiers and the Courts and the Saudi King blamed her for being raped. She was incarcerated and ordered to 100 lashes with the “whip.”
I am a man but I could never understand so many things that men do. I have two daughters and one granddaughter; five sisters; endless nieces and though my Mom passed away some time ago, I still cherish the memories of her and to think that the “gender” that brings life into this world, are treated so badly by these self-righteous morons that God called “Man!.”
The men that do these heinous acts and the men that condone it, they should all be “shot” in the crutch and in the head and left for dead!
